The birds that glide gracefully overhead and wade through the grasses in search of food are a stunning lesson in specialization as they use their unique biological advantages to secure their special place in the complex food web of marsh. Blue crabs glide by just under the surface as fiddler crabs scurry along the mud banks. Nature is active and abundant here.
